fitted a set of refurbed injectors today.. have a question guys

Featured Replies

As above, I fit these today..

They have been professionally refurbed and bench flowed with new rubber seals ect, basically the full Monty.....

Now since fitting them, the car from cold or after being left for a while turns over a few more times than it did before.... it runs great and does start but takes a second or 2 more to fire.

If I stop and turn off the engine and start straight away she fires straight up

Wired one! :-/

I don't see any problem

What was wrong with the old injecters?

The base of number 2 and 3 especially were wet and the first time I had it vag com' d it said she was running a tad lean up top...

I then changed pump to 4 bar, New fuel filter, plugs, and coils but didn't do injectors...

So going with the theory of fuel supply and delivery it's only right the injectors and fpr should be changed..

That way, there can be no problem

(This is my theory) :-)

You're changing so much stuff almost in one go that it may not be the injectors that are the problem. To me if the car isn't starting as quickly from cold or after its been standing a short time, it sounds more of a fuel pump problem if it is even a problem.

It can not be a fuel pump problem if this has only started happening as of this afternoon and the pump was changed a week or so ago

And the way I see it, is the way I've gone since owning this car there is prob more New parts on it than most with the same mileage..

I didn't really say it was a problem anyways,, I was mearly asking the question since it happened earlier

OK not the fuel pump then.Have you scanned it with vag com with the new injectors in just to double check there isn't a problem?

Lucky, a bit off topic but what were you using on VAGcom to see that it was running lean? I've always had little indicators from mine that it was lean, but to be honest, I've never known what to look for on the diagnostics.

WTF ,replacing the injector because the base is wet?...the seal or the plastic insert in the intake manifold is the problem

Aw FFS.... Yes I changed the injectors.. Car on 107,000 miles

I changed the injectors for the reason stated above ^… car was running lean up top and everything else had been changed plus I noticed they were (I wouldn't say wet) more damp..

So I changed em out

Mate, on vagcom if you run a live log in 3rd from 1500rpm to the limiter it will tell you ****loads....

On that, you can see injector duty cycle, timing ect ect...

David did mine for me and said my injector duty cycle was slightly high, so for a few reasons I ended up swapping them out
