Trip computer, average MPG resets every time I drive the car.

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

So... I was wondering, Is it normal for the MK1 Fabia vRS's trip computer to reset the average MPG on every start up?

I was hoping for some kind of "drive for a week and see what my average is after the week is done."

Currently, every time I start-up it resets and builds back up to the mid 40s by the time I've finished my town driving..

Really I'd like some clarification on whether this is correct? or whether I'm missing a trick.

thanks, :)

It's meant to do that.

You have a button on the bottom of the stalk with the buttons to change to the trip computer that stores data.

You can reset this one separately.

Yea when on adv mpg there is 2 options selected via an oblong buttin on the underside of the right side stalk.

1 is the trip you doing now and resets after 2 hrs iirc off in activity.

2 is saved till either its reset(holding the oblong button in) youve done so many miles (its a lot and I cant remember how many) or there is a loss of power (battery flat or disconnected)

If it does it every time you switch ignition of and back on again you have some kind of power problem?
