Hmm, doesnt seem that easy.

I can set the CPU Frequency from 100mhz-220mhz

The CPU/DRAM Clock Ratio has the following options:

1:1

1:2

2:3

10:9

3:4

3:5

4:5

5:6

8:9

4:3

5:4

6:5

They were set at 133mhz and 1:1.

Any ideas?

I think both the P4 and newer Athlons have a thermal diode built into them to shut them off if they're going to fry. Unfortunately, an Athlon will heat up so quickly without a heatsink on it that the diode can't respond fast enough and it fries anyway. A P4 can run without a heatsink, but it will slow down to a crawl. Most of the temperature monitoring is done by a thermcouple underneath the CPU.

Things might have changed now, it's been a while since i did any serious overclocking or CPU mods.

Watch your cooling' date=' though! Athlons tend to hit thermal runaway without too much effort.

Someone volunteered (earlier thread ) that new Athlons (64's) have changed the heat sync so overheating is not the problem it was of old. If it is, perhaps install extra fan, even externally, and take the cover off if necessary to keep it cool. Depends of course on whether you're trying to cure the design fault or overheating from added excess activity methinks.
