ecu problem

I own a skoda Laura l&k A/T transmission and my problem is my car displays enginefault and emissions workshop.i went to skoda service center and they kept my vehicle for one week and finally they called up and said the ecu must be replaced and it costs around 130000.my car has done only 43000 km and it is 2007 march model.how can this happen and wat do I do,iam annoyed with its problem and can anyone suggest me a solution. I have already spent a lot of money on its maintenance. Please help.
