Got the car, now where can I get......

Featured Replies

A number of things, really.

I'm tempted by a set of number plate surrounds and I see the Briskoda shop is out of stock at the mo. Any idea when they are due back, other than "march"? If it won't be long I'll hold off ordering my stickers till then.

I got a cable with my Mitsumi for the traditional Apple dock connector which works fine with my iPod classic but it would be handy to have a lightning cable as well for my iPhone. Is there anywhere that does them for less than £40, or shall I buy a dock to lightning adapter instead? Do cheap third party ones work ok?

Front mud flaps - are they worthwhile, and is Superskoda the supplier of choice?

Is there a boot net that works with the variable floor in an estate, as I think some of the fixings are obscured?

I wouldn't mind some Skoda cycling attire - any cheap suppliers out there?

And last but not least, is there anyone near Bromsgrove in the West Mids that wouldn't mind making some VCDS changes to my car? Happy to drive to you and to bring beer.

Congratulations on finally getting your hands on your MkIII, but we need your post delivery pics just to prove that you really have got rid of the Italian Stallion!

Front flaps all the way for me, imo they stop the worst of the tar spots and thick crud blasting your front doors, I had mine fitted by the dealer, they threw em in as part of the deal.

I've put this up elsewhere, but here you go. I also need to get some new number plates with the 4 a centimeter or so to the right.

Just seen your pics in the other thread, looks great, hope you enjoy it matey.

Your car looks great. I have a set of genuine front and rears that I changed my mind about before fitting. I'm based in Birmingham. PM me if you're interested.

Lovely colour

I've just reserved the 30 pin to lightning adaptor from Argos £14.99 save £10.

P.s - nice car, love the colour!

That's a fantastic colour, love it!

Nice

I thought so. Never bothered with private plates until now as everything I'd seen was either stupidly expensive or required you to squint and use your imagination to see what they wanted it to say but this was too good to pass up.

Ooh, handy. Done.

There are a number of threads on here relating to mud flaps for the Octavia mk3

Seems a good source of supply is the Skoda  dealer in Ireland.

Very near half the price of UK dealer shops.

Search for thread and info for source will be found.

Try Skoda Parts Ireland - Sligo.

Sorry haven't go the e-mail address to hand

Whereas I knew exactly what plate I wanted on the large American motorcycle that I intend to buy, with money saved up over many years, to celebrate a significant birthday. I bought it as soon as I could from the DVLA and ever since It's "resting" on my Skoda in readiness.

Of course it started out as resting on my Mk I Octavia, then my Mk II Octavia, now the Yeti.

The significant birthday occurred so many years ago and it just about to be overtaken by the next significant birthday.

And the money saved up was spent on a holiday to celebrate the missus' significant birthday :-(

I may not have the Harley, but every day I am reminded of what could have been.

When I wanted a set (4) of flaps for the Yeti, list was £60, dealers were offering deals at £50 and Superskoda got a set to me for £40 delivered.
