Hybrid turbo

Featured Replies

Having just bought a turbo off fleebay that was listed as a hybrid

i was wondering if anyone could confirm it as being one via the serial plate on it

i know its from a 110kw arl vehicle but cant find any info to confirm its a hybrid and the seller is now saying it was on the car when he bought it

Is that the one that went for about £150?

I also saw this, was tempted but didn't have enough in the description for me

yes £156 even if its not a hybrid im not too bothered as it looks in good condition and i still think its cheap for a 150pd turbo

The numbers on the plate just show it's a 150 turbo, not sure if the plate would be changed if it was a standard one that had been turned into a hybrid.

Have you recieved it yet?

im collecting it later today

i posed the same question to him about the numbers and he said the  H is stamped on the plate for "Hybrid" i believe its a standard 150 turbo and im going to try haggle the price with that

What would tell its a hybrid then?

isn't the vnt15 a small turbo off the older motors? that plate is usually rivetted on not glued so maybe has been messed with

721021 is the PD150 turbo part number. Ignore the VNT15 bit, garrett mis-labelled a lot of these. If you pull that tag off there is probably another set of numbers etched underneath.

Measuring the hole in the centre of the compressor housing (the inducer of the compressor wheel) will tell you if it's std or uprated.
