Kumho KU31 Ecsta tyres

Featured Replies

I've had Kumhos in the past, and they've been awful. However, I got talked into trying the new KU31, and I have to say, I'm impressed.

Whilst the ultimate grip isn't quite up to the standard Continentals, the tyres are far more predictable and progressive, which makes the car more fun to drive. It's also good for confidence.

They're not too bad in the wet, and the ride is also improved over the Continentals. They're also quieter. Since fitting them, my economy has dropped a tiny bit, but that might be because I'm playing more, rather than it being down to rolling resistance.

For the price, you can't go far wrong (

Got 17s fitted to Fabia and have to say they are good tyres.

Was going to get a set of these for the clio. But Kumho had none in stock. Gone for Toyo's t1r's instead.

I've got these too... have had them on for nearly 10k now. Very impressed - a big improvement on the old michelin premacys. They're wearing pretty well too!

Best bit,

I've got some KUmho (sic) Ecstas on the front of the Octy and they're great in the dry and quite hard wearing, but they can be a bit unpredictable in the wet. The car skitters about more than when I had the Conti's on.
