RaceChip

Featured Replies

Any experience with Racechip for diesel engines for new Octy? Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Oh no. Not another thread on tuning!

Hot potato, orchestra falls, pluck will make amends!

It's like the "Scottish play" on this site.

I seem to remember a guy reporting troubles with such a box on other engines (Mini Cooper D). His issues were due to too high settings for fueling, worse these wrong settings were suggested by the seller/vendor itself.

Fact is that these boxs are "universal" and a given setting may seem fine for a certain period, but in the end leading to clogged DPF, etc. depending on your driving habits, the ECU "policies", etc.

Anyway, these boxes seem nowadays one of the easiest way to squeeze something more from these engines (save, perhaps, fitting a larger intercooler).

P.S.: can't really understand why tuning/tweaking shouldn't be a major subject of interest.

Im sorry buy boxes aren't universal, well ours aren't.

I would love to see you use a 2.0VAG system on a 2.0 BMW intact a 3.0 VAG..

AFAIK Racechips (mentioned by OP) are universal, in that they have an array of switches to be set.

I'm simplifying but if fueing is set too rich, the electronic will go to limp, etc. etc.

I would love to see me use a tuned box of yours on my next OctyIII ;)

Tuning IS a major subject of interest on any car site, for those on both sides of the arguement sadly, the OP's offering is the poorest quality item I've every had the misfortune to see.

OP don't fit that to your O3, it'll be nothing but trouble, find something more suitable FFS
