Advice please; "Difficult to clean" alloys

Featured Replies

My wife has just taken delivery of a new Ford Fiesta, her model comes with (what appear to me...anyway...) hard to clean 15 spoke alloy wheels.

As I would obviously like to keep them in as good condition as possible ...is there anything I should be doing now when the car is new & are there any expert tips/advice that will help me maintain them...?

A lady down the road has a VW Up with even more intricate spokey wheel design and these are already looking pretty sad and spoiling the overall look of the car.

Any advice welcome thanks.

Yes get some wheel sealant on them it will make it loads easier to take care of in the future, and keep up to it enough and break dust and grime will just wash off over time.

If you don't want to go out and spend money on a new product you can always layer up with an old sealant you use on the paintwork or even wax if your on a budget, it will all help protect.

ArmorAll do a "wheel shield" product that has some good reviews, comes in an aerosol spray, apply after cleaning wheels thoroughly. Other than that, a decent wheel cleaner and a wheel brush, and PW off... It might take a couple of mins extra per wheel, but worth it in the long run...
