Help - VRS engine rocking back & forward on idle

Featured Replies

I am a new VRS owner of about a week. I noticed today when I had the engine running and the bonnet open that the engine looked as if it was rocking back and forward. I know that diesel engines are a bit noisier than petrol engines but just was wondering if this was normal vibration or does it point to worn engine mounts or bushes or something? The car itself drives lovely but just noticed this vibration when sitting outside the GP surgery idling, popped the bonnet and the engine was rocking back and forward.

Thanks

Quite normal - you could change the engine mounts if you felt they were worn.

Engine mounts could be worn, but I would just put it down to you coming from a scoob mate everything will be so much tighter on them engines. I changed my dogbone mount bush for a powerflex one, more vibrations but a noticeable difference in power delivery and the engine doesn't rock as much !

Cheers Ad Lav & Tom - You are probably right Tom. Just not used to the little TD lump yet
