Fuel Filter change in MK1 Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

I know this has probably been done to death folks so, I apologise in advance.  And yes, I have tried the search button, after five pages of inappropriate info from the posts I gave up!

My Furby has almost reached the 40 K interval for renewal of the fuel filter, now the embarrassing bit, I can't remember if it is self priming or needs to be filled at renewal, with the pump making up the slight difference. it's been about 5 years since I changed one (on my last Furby) and I just can't remember. Memory loss due to brain haemorrhage as a result of a bad bike accident 4 and a half years ago.  :(

Any info appreciated, thanks!

Change And turn ingnition on and off about 10-15 times to prime it then all should be well

I changed mine last week. I just filled the new filter to the top with diesel reconected the pipe work and it started first time with no priming.

I switched mine in the Roomster. Used a coffee machine filter paper to prime the new filter with 'old dirty diesel' from the outgoing filter.

Job done, started first time no need to cycle.
