Skoda paint toutch up kit.

Featured Replies

Can you lovely people give me some advice on how to use the skoda toutch up kit?

It comes with a colour tube (race blue) and a white tube..... Is this a clear coat? There's no instructions on how to use it and I've never done it before. Any advice or pointers are appreciated.

Also..... Stone chips on rear bumper, I know there's a clear protective film on the rear arch but is there a kit you can buy to do the rear bumper, I've got severel on each side now.

Yes the white one is clearcoat. I don't bother with the clearcoat as it tends to make the chips shiny and stand out a bit more so I jus use the colour. I also trimmed down the brush with some scissors to make it thinner for smaller chips, as standard it's thick it enough to paint a house!

A few years ago a mechanic showed me how to touch up a stone chip using the corner of a piece of paper. Dip the corner into paint & touch the chip with it. You only get a small amount of paint into the chip & no "blob" of paint. Let it dry & repeat as needed to get a level surface - works for me.

Similar method is to dip a match stick and dab onto chip. Seem to recall a very good thread on retailers world website a while back. Will try to find link.
