Water Meth benefits

Featured Replies

Does anyone use water methanol injection? Seen quite a few youtube vids of it on TDi engines and it seems to work quite well, I understand it cools something down but that's about all i can make of it ! LOL

Devonutopia, IIRC he's just got his system back up n running.

Benefits; a bit more power and torque and > MPG.

Cheers Lee, power torque and mpg!? Sounds all win :D

Someone else has it. He has an SE. Can't rember his name though haha. He was at the Shark open day last year, as was Jason.

A quick search on the Tdi club and it says there is NO downsides to it at all, maybe worth looking into. Can't seem to find any uk dealers they're all American, will see what Jason says when he sees this :D

Doesn't it decrease exhaust gas temps meaning cooler running so more power or peak power for longer? I looked in it to it couple years back when I first got mine but can't remember much.

You can buy it in the UK, some of the forum sponsors sell the Devils Own kits.

I had one on my VRS SE.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jase got Darkside Developments to source his system.

I'd possibly have it again when I eventually get another one.

FTFY :giggle:

did you think it was worth it? Can't seem to find a bad review to be honest

People will generally say yes to justify the money, kind of the placebo effect. But yes I think it did have benefits.

On a rolling road my SE ran about 10bhp higher with it on. 250/260.

It does cool the combustion process so I can't think of any reason not to fit it to a car where you are pushing the boundaries a bit.

Jase might not be able to give much input until later; it seems his FB says he's at The Blue Oyster Bar ATM

I am ordering some next week :)

Get to f**k!  I was at the PDC Darts thanks, so whilst I have had plenty of watered down beer, I am pretty compus

I run a snow performance (Ex Jabbasport) stage 2 kit which is progressive based on boost feed,  It works real well.  Fairly simple process.  You have boosted air at pressure.  You inject a fine mist of water and methanol at that boost and it provides oxygen (cooler air = more dense) and fuel (meth) into the head.  This means you get bigger bang = simples more power.  Also, because progressive I get more "mist" at max boost than at say 10PSI which is roughly when the initial light mist kicks in.

Would love to explain more, but I hope the above gives a good summary.

Maybe yours is the one I saw at Shark Richard. I'm fairly sure the guy said he bought the certain with it already installed. Old-ish guy with glasses? Was a nice chap, had a chat to him about our peeling spoilers haha.
