Spacers on standard spiders?

Featured Replies

After some advice on the above subject having had my FK coil-overs on for about 2 months now started to experience the urge to lower it some more so had a play yesterday and found I could only go another 5 mm before the spring adjusters rub on the tyre. So my question is what thickness of spacer do I need to allow a good drop at the front and what type of spacer do I need ? also if I where to change alloys what offset would give me more clearance at the shocker side (don't mind a bit of poke) to allow a full drop.

Don't know exactly what size you'll need as not sure of the offsets on the spiders but may only need a small 5-10mm spacer but hub centric ones are best but they are generally only hub centric on bigger sizes but if you only need a 5mm it may be small enough that the wheel still locates on the hub.

And as for other offsets then say for example the spiders were et38 then if you got some et30 rims they are effectively stick 8mm further out,so the lower the et number the further out they will poke.

5mm will do it

Or h&r do a 7/8mm with the wheel centering ring

Cheers for the replies guys I'm gonna wait till I know the rear springs are ok and not going to need to break again. Then I will invest in spacers.

I had exactly same issue with my spiders and my KW coilovers. I bought 12mm h & r spacers that are great and I have 8mm on the back as any wider would hit the rear arch as I am low. You could go only 8mm on front to as that is enough to clear coil platform's but don't go any smaller as you need hub centric and they don't make 5 mm ones and 5mm is still a little close to platform.

So H&R 8mm all round would be a good solution.

Fold the inner edge of the arches and run 8MM will have more then enough clearance both sides

So H&R 8mm all round would be a good solution.

8mm with the collar should be fine but they won't fit on the rear as the rear hub lip will be too big.

Cheers so I'd need the H&R hub-centric for the front only. Don't think I'll need the rears spaced as there's not a clearance issue at the rear.

Personally I'd space the rears out if you're doing the fronts, for visual alone if anything.

10mm should be enough to clear the front spring platforms, yes a full set of 4 please Damian
