Hi all this is one of the error codes found using VCDS lite yesterday, how is this fixed?

 

01336 - Data Bus for Comfort System: Single-Wire Operation Possible Symptoms

• Data Bus Comfort working in Single-Wire Mode

Possible Causes

• Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Modules
• Control Module in CAN Data Bus Comfort faulty

Possible Solutions

• Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
• Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Modules

Special Notes

• When found in VW Passat (3B): Comfort System, check Comfort Control Module and Door Control Modules.

It is fixed by finding the break in the CAN-Bus wiring. CAN-Bus wiring is made up of a twisted pair of wires to improve noise immunity. Your CAN-Bus is operating in a degraded state as one wire is broken. You need to look at the orange/green, orange/brown twisted pair.

Where does the can bus wiring run to? I assume it will run from the ECU but then where too?

It's the convenience CAN-Bus that has the problem - not the drive CAN-Bus. Start at the dash insert and follow that pair of wires.

You don't give the year/engine (I assumed BBZ), but the door modules will all be on this bus.

It presumably is a break between the A pillar and door
