Diesel Leak ...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Today I had the engine cover off and discovered a small amount of raw diesel sitting at the bottom of the two left hand side injectors (as you look at the engine), the area was obviously wet. I'm guessing it's an injector seal, but I'm wondering if anybody has come across this before on these engines (CR170 CFGB) and how costly a fix is it? It's running sweetly and no fault codes were shown last week at it's main dealer service (I hadn't discovered it at that stage).

Any help would be greatly appreciated ..

Many thanks,

Rob

I have a funny feeling this is the subject of a recall. Only saw it yesterday. maybe contact your nearest dealer. In the meantime, google (other search engines are available!) skoda superb recall. Hope it helps?

Thanks for the replies guys ... I had a look at those recall dates and it ends with build date 02/09 for the MKII Superb so that doesn't include my car (build date 08/10). I'm taking it to a main dealer after the weekend for diagnosis and I'll post the results.

Much appreciate the help,

Rob

I might not be reading the recall right but doesn't it say it affects cars built between 01/01/09 and 15/12/11?

That is the way I read it too.

I had that leak looked at today and it's the injector leak-off pipes. They're about €130 incl. vat for the complete assembly, and fitting is 10 minutes, so a good result.

The link below is date and model specific for that VOSA recall:

Thanks again,

Rob
