New Octavia vRS 14reg Dsg tdi

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

First propa post on here about my new Octavia. Earlier on today I put some fuel into the car, as I was taking a turning onto a motorway she completely switched off on her own and the OBC was saying " switch car on Manually". Bearing in mind I had just got on to a slip road I had to pull in and restart her (using kesy). Seemed really odd. Then I got home, decided to take her out shortly after but as she started up she switched off, it then started fine on the second go.

The car only has 500 miles, should it be having these random glitches? Is this usual?? My first skoda so not sure what these cars are like electrically. Besides these issues and the small fuel tank, it's great!!

Kal

Out of interest, was the car in eco mode as I believe a few of the guys on here have had issues when it eco mode on the TDI?

The Eco mode problem doesn't switch the engine off, it just gives you no drive whatsoever under certain conditions.

Kal, your car should never switch itself off while driving, get it back to the stealership asap for it to be fixed before it happens and puts you in a dangerous situation.

WTF is a "stealership" when it's at home?

It's usually the place you buy the car from, so who's the mug?

I reported same issue as the OP on here a few weeks back. Engine stopped while I was moving (20mph approx) in Eco mode.

I've stopped using Eco.

Has happened to me once, when I was on eco mode, shouldn't happen in my view regardless of driving mode, I will see if it happens again, if t does then its back to the dealer, but any reason as to why this would happen though??

Happened to me in Eco mode twice...mine is going to the dealer on Friday for a check up.

Btw, you don't have to stop to restart the engine. Just put into neutral and press the start button...it worked for me.
