Heated mirrors

Featured Replies

Ok thanks, I'll try by putting rear de mister on next time. :)

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

They need to be set to on and then should only come on with the rear screen demist, they switch themselves off (like the screen) after 10/15min)

I hadn't read about the 20C limit.

Mine were starting to give up the ghost at about 6yr. Was going to replace the glass but sold the car.

ISTR this is dependent on model year. On mine they will come on regardless of whether the rear screen demist is on or not.

I'm pretty sure that's right on mine too but I think there may be a temperature limit as suggested above as I'm pretty sure mine weren't working when testing them recently on a warm day.

Well had a play tonight.

WD40'd behind the mirror glass and pulled off the brown and grey wire.

Hooked up my multimeter thingy, get 8.1 volts on standby and 14.2 volts on, the fuse is ok and power getting to them. Connected them back up and appear to be getting bit warmer now so maybe a dry connection perhaps.

Time will tell when the colder mornings are upon us.

Just for info, used mine today and they worked without the rear demister. 2011 FL vRS...

Ok this morning was a good opportunity to try.

These were the results after 10 minutes.
