Have Fabia Mk1 and a sound like something rolling around below instrument cluster. Removed two screws at base of cluster but unable to remove cluster.

I can only move bottom of cluster about 1/8 inch.

Haynes tells us to tip the top of the cluster forward and remove the cluster, but I cannot get a grip on the top of the cluster to do that.

Does any experts out there have any experience of removing the cluster?

Any information gratefully received.

I have the Ibiza tdi which I'd imagine has a similar design and when I removed mine it was fixed by two screws at the top ( located vertically and easy to get at)and two screws at the bottom which can be seen after removing the trim around the I intrument cluster.

You will then be able to pull it out enough to then detach the electrical cables.

It's a bit of a fiddle but easy after you've done it a few times.

You need to try and wriggle the top part free. An old credit card or similar can be slid in there to help

I must confess some scepticism a credit card would help, but tried it anyway. I found that if I used two, one each side where the cluster curves down, they gave sufficient clearance to get my fingers on the top of the cluster and pull forward.
