Face lift L&K brown leather interior?

Featured Replies

Well I'm sorry. I spent £29k on a spec'd up Elegance predominantly because there was no way I was buying a car with a brown interiror.

Speaking to colleagues in the motor trade a brown lnterior can reduce the resale value of the car by as much as 10% so seeing as I plan to sell after 3 years, and mowing the L&K couldn't be spec'd with the wheels & roof colours I wanted (nor the combo of 170 & DSG - though they have now rectified that) I decided the elegance was the way to go.

But it's not all good news. My elegance came with floodwater-brown dash trim instead of the L&K's lovely piano black or the SE's perfectly adequate silver. The floodwater brown trim would probably look quite nice in the L&K as it would have something to match.

I may be misinterpreting your words, but I presume you're in the motor trade as you have 'colleagues' in the motor trade? How can a FL L&K's value be marked down 10% at resale when you can only have an L&K with a black/brown interior? 10% of what?!

As Gizmo said - apart from your dislike of the interior trim, you spec'd an Elegance to what, 10% plus of it's basic spec, with extras you won't get money back for at resale - and you slag off the L&K?! Furthermore, I would think you could have bought an L&K and paid for Elegance seats and trim to be fitted and it would still have cost you less.

So, please don't come on here claiming we're financially ruined for buying an L&K.

On the subject of like/dislike, I don't mind people posting they don't like something if they have to, but perhaps the words used could be a little bit more grown up than some posted above.

I really like the L&K interior. As I've said, I had reservations when ordering it as I'd have preferred black. Now I've got it, I think it's great - and so does absolutely everyone who has had a look inside TIBET III - and that is quite a few people.

I'm surprised people won't buy a car based on the colour of the seats. Some complain that the Columbus isn't in the line of sight. The seats certainly aren't!

Oh, and kindly add Terracotta Bronze to the colours that work well with L&K trim...

Thanks Aerofurb it's just like I wanted it to be, quite a dark chocolate colour.

I just wish the steering wheel matched it too

But never mind an L&K with brown leather it is.

Tired of boring old black now.

Not 100% on exterior colour yet though, I'm thinking jungle green?.

Again thanks everyone who actually helped on this thread.

Carl.

The worst part of the Superb brown interior is the brown steering wheel...

Be thankful that is NOT fitted to the Yeti.

I LOVE the brown L&K Yeti interior.

Totally agree with you Johann, the brown wheel does nothing for me, thankfully the Yeti's is Black.

Oh and the L & K is the only one that I could buy, 4x4 petrol, avoiding the DPF which I've fallen foul of with a Qashqai back in 2007. DPF are not very successful here with 40mph limit and low mileage.

I LOVE the brown L&K Yeti interior.

Oh dear, that is quite bad , as well as the gear lever surround.

I'm liking the piano black climatronic panel though - that looks like a straight swap with the Yeti one....

Hmmm...

I prefer the brown wheel. Flows better to me. Shame it's not an option.

The Superb one is a straight swap for the Yeti one if you *really* want one that much....

Putting my feelings for brown aside for a moment, I prefer the 3 spoke Yeti wheel anyway over the 4-spoke one above. 4 spoke wheel just look a bit 1990's to me...
