Headlamp Lever: What does it do?

Featured Replies

Have just noticed two leavers by the headlamps on the Elegance. Photo attached.

Does anyone know what they do?

Are they Xenons?

If so, I'd guess its the continental converter mechanism for LHD/RHD swaps.

It's for removing the lights. Remove the screw on the back of the light at the top, press the lever down and pull towards the centre of the car and the light will slide out.

Not reccommended as they're right *******s to get back in again, and there's not a lot you can do with them when they're out, other than think "crikey, i bet these are difficult to get back in".

Oddly enough there don't seem to be any converter levers for LHD/RHD beams.

Thanks. I did not think that they were dip beam converters as they both pull towards the centre of the car.

While trying to find out what they did I found the bit in the manual about driving on the right (for RHD vehicles). The Skoda recommendation is to use stick on lamp masks. I have personally used the Halfords own brand and they work fine. Ocky 2 was not listed but the manufaturer gave the me required info when I e-mailed.
