Do I really need to wash it again?

Featured Replies

Today I have Iron X'd and Clay Mitt'd.

Tomorrow I'm going to polish (Carlack) and then seal (Autofinesse Tough Coat)

Do I really need to wash the car again after polishing and before sealing?

Many thanks

Mike.

No....Carlack is an AIO cleaner and sealer polish...Just Add sealer straight over it Mike

This is what I did:

  1. Washed wheels using Bilberry Wheel Cleaner
  2. Pressure rinsed
  3. Decon` wheels with Iron X
  4. Pressure rinsed
  5. Removed tar spots using Valet Pro Citrus Tar and Glue Remover
  6. Pressure rinsed
  7. Pre-washed bottom third of car using Valet Pro Citrus Pre Wash in a Garden Sprayer
  8. Pressure rinsed
  9. Snow Foamed using Magifoam
  10. Pressure rinsed
  11. Washed (2 BM) using Farecla Bodywork Detox Shampoo
  12. Pressure rinsed
  13. Dried using combination of Woolly Mammoth and various other drying towels
  14. Decontaminated using Iron X all over
  15. Pressure rinsed
  16. `Clayed` using Farecla Mitt and a combination of Farecla Shampoo with a good dash of Fairy Liquid to give a nice soapy lubricant
  17. Pressure rinsed
  18. Dried As Above
  19. Polished using Megs DA and Carlack
  20. Pre sealed using Autofinesse Tough Prep
  21. Sealed using Autofinesse Tough Coat
  22. Cleaned glass roof and windows using Autofinesse Crystal Glass Cleaner
  23. Cleaned tailpipes using Motorex Protect and Shine
  24. Sealed wheels using Chemical Guys Wheel Guard
  25. Dressed the tyres using Megs Endurance
  26. Dressed the little bit of black plastic trim using AG Bumper and Trim Gel
  27. Dressed the door rubbers using Sonex Gummi Pfleger
  28. Cleaned the seats and dash using Renapur Leather Cleaner
  29. Conditioned seats and dash using Autofinesse Leather Conditioner
  30. Hoovered the carpets.

Problems along the way:

  1. Dodging the sun (Everyday apart from today)
  2. Dodging the rain (Yesterday)
  3. Not really understanding when to stop polishing. I’ve been told by you knowledgeable chaps that it’s when “it goes clear”. Unfortunately I have trouble with that. I don’t know whether I’m using too little polish or I’m polisher for too long…but I get these `marks` rather like hardened polish that are a bugger to get off again. I suppose I need to watch someone else polish a car!

All in all a very enjoyable 5 days.

Regards

Mike.

Good effort.  Now try to condense that down for someone into around 6 to 7 hours. :D  Not easy. :D

Brilliant Mike

Very well done

Results are excellent

Well, I've given the car a coat of Sonax BSD this morning.

I have to say...no product has any right to be this good!

Earlier as I polished and sealed I could make out my shape in the reflections.

This morning I could make out all my features...quite a shock to the system, I can tell you.

Regards

Mike.

I told you it was good...LOL

Wait till it rains!!

I really need to get some of the sonax, other half will go mental if i spend any more money on my car, but what the hell?

'Whats that?'

'Oh this? Its something I had laying around for a while so thought I would use it instead of buying more products'   :)

Mike, is this the 'real' you?
