Have been head over heels in love for last six month now, i simply love my car. Its so good to drive and i love every little thing about it. Now spring is here, and i have a lot of stuff ordered over the winter that i have to fit. New fogs, new race pedals, Vogtland coilover. Tint the windows. New front lip. New front grille. And a hood holder shock thingy ( dont know what to call it ;-) yeah thats about it..... For now

So you guys needs to step up, or mine will take all the beauty prices. :-))))

It's easy to fall in love with the Octavia, it is indeed a great all rounder that few can equal!

Good to read this, I feel the same 6 weeks in, just hope I feel the same at 6 months :)

Liking the chrome surrounds

Good to hear :) I am also from Denmark and have a race blue 1.4 TSI DSG Combi on order.

I've had the Octy for 8 months and only covered 4,500 miles.

Still feels like brand new and I still look forward to driving it no matter how long or short the journey.

Only regret is specifying DSG or not waiting for VRS (VRS didn't exist when it was ordered this time last year).

Loving mine too (2.0 Elegance estate manual).

Have to say of all the cars Ive had to date its probably about the best VAG car Ive had and honestly think its all the car anyone would really need. Its not the most exciting car in the world and part of me does still wish id waited and ordered a vRS TSi but then i know id then be complaining about heavy fuel consumption and the firmer ride.

Its quick for a 150hp diesel, frugal (already seeing 55mpg on a reasonable run with only 1300 miles on the clock), comfortable (standard suspension strikes about the right balance between reasonable handling and ride comfort), extremely well equipped and nicely bolted together.

My only gripes....standard stereo now sounds good but just doesnt quite go loud enough still sware something has been done to limit sound output/frequency range on the new infotainment system, the steering is a bit vague at low speeds around dead-ahead, the headlight washers use loads of screenwash and still not entirely convinced how well the alcantara/leather mix will stand up to the test of time but otherwise a cracking motor.

Hope I'm able to say the same in 6 months

Picking up my white candy 1.6 estate hatchback DSG on friday - with black roof and black 18" alu and a little bit extra from the equipment list :-) - ordered week one 2014.....

Hmmm... Had mine 18 days now and the only thing I'm not in love with is how smooth it feels so smooth I'm cruising everywhere, at least thats what I think till I look at the speedo and realise 20-25-30-35-40 mph over the speed limit which ain't cruising for anything other than a ban. Although, I've gotta problem with the coasting in Eco Mode too no, not the filthy, smelly oil burner's stall prob no, mine is when any other car in front of me lifts off the gas, they've still got their gearbox/engine engaged and hence, I have to brake slightly ruining my fuel economy, which as I'm sure you can tell, is my number one priority. LOL

Great car, loving it to bits.

Regards

T
