Replacing rear wiper motor

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

Just created my account to get a few answers that don't seem to be available elsewhere on this forum.

Apologies if I have missed them if they are there.

Have just bought a secondhand replacement motor for the one that died and have a couple of Q's.

1. Is the ingress of water that affects these, from the washer pipe or from water getting in from the outside?

2. If it is from the outside what other parts should I consider replacing?

3. Are there any tricky bits to removing the old motor and fixing the replacement that I need to be aware of?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Water ingress is usually from the internal washer pipe which runs through the centre.

As for fitting, very easy. Remove wiper arm and inner boot trim. Disconnect connector, remove 10mm bolts, pull motor out. Just make sure the grommet in the windows is fitted correctly before refitting the new one

in response to question 3, it's a piece of ****(wee wee) job. The only annoying part is takign the boot trim off and getting it back on. It's a 4 handed job...that's done upside down.
