Temp gauge on instrument panel

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was driving along in my fabia vrs today and I noticed the temp gauge wasn't going up at all, and then I noticed that the oil temperature had reach 50C so that's when I knew there was something wrong with it as normally the temp gauge normally hits 90C before the oil hits 50C.

Any ideas?

Ryan

Yes normally the Coolant Temp Gauge reaches 90 *oC indicated a few miles before the Indicated oil reaches 50*oC

But this morning,  what was the Ambient Temperature when you started up and Drove.?

(here it was -3*oC)

So have you looked at the PInk Coolant and is it showing above 'MIN' when cold.

Is the Temp Gauge working now?

Best see next time if working OK or not, before investigating more.

Hi thanks for the reply,

The temperature was 11.5oC so I expected it to warm up pretty quickly but it did not.

Even when the oil temperature reach 85oC it didn't start to rise so this immediately is what made me think something was wrong.

I will have another drive of the car in a moment and report back as to whether or not it is working.

Yes the coolant level is above minimum.

OK,

maybe a sensor then, or a loose connection, not likely to be an airlock on a 1.4tsi,

best monitor it & see what it does.
