Hi all...

 

Never owned a Skoda before... in fact, fair to say I've never really looked at them before.  Current car is a BMW 120d - although that was more due to limited choice as it's a company car than anything else - and I need something bigger due to growing kids.  So, I've just put my order in for an Octavia vRS estate, and hopefully it will be here before the BMW gets taken off me in October!

 

Having looked at just about everything on the market in the £25-£30k range, I can't believe the Octavia is the only car with a decent engine, decent spec, and loads of room.  There just isn't anything else out there, and probably goes quite some way to explain why you have to wait 6 months for a Skoda... which still just seems bonkers to me   .

The huge wait is mainly for the vRS I think? I ordered an Elegance Estate last weekend and its expected to be here by early May (roughly 7 weeks)

I've got a 1.4TSI Elegance Estate on order.  The dealar warned me before ordering that the build week would be 10 to12 weeks later, and that with shipping etc I could expect a wait of around 15 weeks in total. I got a provisional Skoda build week the day after the order and the dealer was spot on with his time estimate!

According to my dealer 35% of Octavia's ordered are VRS so that says it all about lead times.

Good luck, I ordered beginning of feb, only info I have is both skoda uk and dealer tell me end of September estimated build then shipping in top.

Mine is a 4x4 2.0 TDI so possibly they have fitted mine in with a batch of other similar cars I was originally told 12 - 16 weeks so was expecting it around June / July instead of May.
