What will VAGCOM/VCDS do for me?

Featured Replies

Ive got my Yreg fabia classic and was wondering if having a session with VAGCOM will give me the opportunity to activate or change anything on my car that might not have been done?

I know that some people will be able to add features like dial sweeps and maxidot display features on the newer models, but seeing as mine is old and poverty spec, is there anything to be gained from it for me?

Cheers :)

alter the weight/ feel of the steering, open all doors with one click on the fob, alarm 'chirp' on/ off, etc etc.

The best part is it's use as a diagnostic tool though.

I dont have OEM central locking so thats not a problem, doubt it has the alarm chirp either but again the aftermarket one deals with that.

I do need to have a look at the diagnostics side at some point, ive just ordered an OBD2 bluetooth connector for the torque app so this might give me some indication before i plug the full programme in.

Thanks for the reply lee :)

Torque will give you engine codes only, VCDS will give full diagnostics of all modules fitted.Having said that, you probably won't have *that* many modules....

Thanks for this - didn't know you could do all this stuff...
