vRS - Dealer discount?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am going for a second test drive in a vRS tomorrow and hopefully get a good deal on a new one.

What sort of deals do Skoda typically give? Seen some good deals online - will they get anywhere close to those?

I am looking at a Black one with cruise and possibly xenons.

Any tips on negotiating? I've not bought a brand new car before. May be trading my current car (if they offer me something reasonable for it) or selling it privately.

What's the waiting time like at the moment?

Thanks!

Jon

AFAIK Dealer margin is around 8% so if you get near that it's ok.

You may fare slightly better if it's nearly bonus time and they need to shift cars.

We bought a black vrs with no other extras and paid

When we were negotiating I had phoned lots of dealers and enquired about UK stock cars and had a pretty good idea of which cars were available and the spec so when confronting my dealer he already knew I'd done some homework, I was able to tell them the cars that suited me that were in the UK.

I'd recommend selling you current car privately you'll get alot more for it then from trade in say 1k+ on a 5-6k car. get all te money together before entering the showroom then make a cash offer there and then enabling you to probably get away with a huge discount due to the ease of the sale. I've not personally done this but it sounds good:) Been looking at quite a few online suppliers and look like you can get a black VRS with cruise for about 11400 - I'm tempted. the thing is all these sites say new and dealer supplied so it stands to reason that a significant discount must be obtainable direct from a dealer.

I did the walking in with printed out internet deals thing and they matched "drivethedeal's" online offer.

The internet gives you a good place to start, I got my vRS 2 weeks ago from a dealer, I got a very good discount that matched the online deals, plus the first service free and an excellent deal on the next two services, took delivery in a week.

If you would like the salesman I dealt with then just PM me, he is excellent and gives fantastic deals!!! they supply lots of the internet companies.

Said it before, will say it many times to come...

Get web prices, and beat the stealer around the head with them - worked for me,

Hi Steve!

Thanks for the tips everyone - got a reasonable deal on the Furby, but not good enough on the Elise for me to consider letting it go. Going to wait and sell it privately and then try again with a cash only deal and get a better specced one.

Anyone want to buy my Elise?!
