Ha!… That's almost a carbon copy of my tracking history on GLS… same ****, different order!

I rang ParcelFarce this morning, and they are as clueless as I am as to what the problem is (despite the fact that they are actually the ones that have the item 'Stored'… DUH)!.

They told me to call HMRC (tel. 0845 010 9000) as 'it's the quickest way to resolve the issue' which I did… but hey it's Saturday, and they're a waste of f***ing time Government department… what was I thinking!

Monday morning job it seems!

Maybe we need to both get on the same call.  I can patch you in if you like. PM me your number and when's a good time.

Any joy?  I tried calling Parcel Farce and they said they had not yet received the parcel and it was in storage with GLS.  I have emailed GLS twice and had no reply.  There's no contact numbers on their website either. :wall:

I've contacted GLS through their local website. Probably that's why they don't have a phone number of their main site.

Another problem with GLS is that it doesn't have a centralised database with their packages. I couldn't believe that. They're not like UPS or DHL. More like the postal office. To find out the address written on a package you have to talk to a guy that holds the package in front of him :)

Meanwhile I opened a claim with paypal to get my money back from the hood dampers since superskoda doesn't answer.

On Monday (07/04), I called HMRC as directed by ParcelFarce, gave them the GLS and ParcelFarce tracking references, and they said the item wasn't flagged at all on their system so it wasn't a customs issue. I then rang ParcelFarce again who spent a bit more time looking into it rather than just fobbing me off like they did the last time with the 'call HMRC' line, and this time they said it was a postcode issue (an 'O' instead of a 'Q' in my postcode), but that it looked like it had now been amended and the parcel should soon be on its way, and they'd send an internal message to wherever it was being 'stored' and get them to ring me later to let me know what was happening.

About 4 hours later got a phone call, as promised, from whoever/wherever my parcel is being held, only to be told that it was a 'customs documentation issue' (aaaaargh!), that it was nothing I could assist with, and that they had been in contact with GLS to request the additionally required information, which they expected soon, and after which my parcel would be released for final delivery.

Still, however, nothing changes as the copy of my tracking history (below) from the GLS website shows.

Getting as pi**ed off with this (as I am), I emailed Superskoda (08/04) and asked them to contact GLS to find out what was happening and give them any information they needed to get things moving. No reply from them as yet.

Thankfully I paid for this stuff through PayPal and used whatever that system of theirs is that you don't actually get debited for the money until 14 days from the date of order (supposedly as that's deemed to be sufficient time to receive most deliveries and check you're happy with the stuff before they pay the supplier), so if nothing changes on the GLS website by Friday morning, and I don't get a response from Superskoda, I'll be contacting PayPal with a view to asking them to withhold/deny payment (or whatever they do) as I've not received the goods. Maybe if Superskoda get the threat of a cancelled order and the hassle of retrieving their goods they might do something about it… but maybe they just won't give a ****.

I note it says on your tracking history (as it does mine) 'Inbound to GLS location United Kingdom' but you say that ParcelFarce told you they hadn't received it from GLS. This, from the information I've gathered so far is utter bullish*t as GLS don't have any depots in the UK and contract ParcelFarce to handle all their UK deliveries… so if it's showing as being in the UK, ParcelFarce are the ones who have it stored!

As an additional point of note, when I last spoke to ParcelFarce and they said it was a 'customs documentation issue', I did state that as the items were bound for the Channel Islands, which although part of the EU free movement territory are not part of the EU, they were therefore only in transit through the UK and not its final destination, so why were they holding the goods for customs related issues (as the actual customs clearance point is in the Channel Islands), to which, surprisingly, they couldn't give me an answer.

Quite prepared for cancelling the order (through Paypal) as fed up with getting dicked around by just about ever company that's been involved in this silly saga.

I rang Parcel Force again yesterday and got a similar story - I finally got through to PF International Dept (a chap called Chris) who told me that he'd speak to the GLS guy as they were the agents in the UK. After 5 minutes on hold I was also told the paperwork was incomplete and that GLS would contact Superskoda.

Why FFS does GLS accept a shipment without the correct paperwork? Surely Czech Customs would want to see it on its way out of the country.

I too, paid by Paypal and am just about to email Superskoda again (99.999% sure I'm wasting my time).  I will also open a dispute if I don't receive my goods soon.

Email just sent.  Maybe burnt a few bridges by hey-ho .........

Hello,

I ordered a some parts from you recently but they have been in the GLS store in the UK since 1/4/14 and won’t be released due to ‘incomplete Customs paperwork’.

GLS’ agent in the UK, Parcel Force, tell me that GLS has contacted Superskoda to correct the paperwork and will release my order once you provide the correct information. I know this has happened to at least one other order which was was also sent recently and I believe GLS has contacted you regarding that order too.

Please can you urgently correct the paperwork so that these parcels can be released and we can enjoy the products.

The GLS tracking number is XXXXXXXXXXXXX and the Parcel force tracking number is ECXXXXXXXXXGB

Fortunately I paid by Paypal so will be able to open a payment dispute if this is not resolved in the next few days.

I look forward to your prompt action to resolve these issues.

Regards,
Blah blah blah

To redress the balance slightly, I ordered a set of rubber floormats from Superskoda five days ago, and they arrived this morning, no problems.

Still no change to my situation… goods still stored and no response from Superskoda… so have emailed to give them 24 hours to resolve after which I'm cancelling the order and raising a dispute with PayPal for a full refund.

I understand these things happen, and can be flexible to accommodate, but being ignored (by Superskoda) gets my back up.

Nothing that can't be purchased elsewhere in any case.

Had enough of being ignored and nothing happening, so have emailed Superskoda to officially cancel the order and request a full refund, and have also raised a dispute with my payment provider for a full refund on the basis of their (Superskoda's) failure to deliver the goods or respond to my emails within a reasonable timeframe.

Mine's now saying'returned form Customs' but still stored.  I have emailed Superskoda and will call Parcel Force tomorrow.  If no joy by Friday next Friday I will raise a dispute with Paypal too.

There is an email exchange somewhere here with them.

Certainly would make me think twice about ordering with them

Right, time to open a dispute with Paypal......

  • 2 weeks later...

Been notified of a refund from Paypal also - very helpful call centre staff when I explained the dispute, and resolved in 3 hours!

Undoubtedly the only way to pay for anything over the internet.

My goods were returned to Superskoda by the couriers on 29/4 due to their failure to get any response from them re the missing customs info.

Total of 5 emails sent to [email protected]/[email protected], 3 contact requests via the link on their web page, and no response whatsoever. Numerous phone calls and attempts to fax them but the phone and fax number numbers on their website both inoperative…

Still… that's an end to that shopping experience… and the lesson for today - DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!
