stick with my tfsi or pd170

Featured Replies

Hi all i currently have octavia vrs 2.0tfsi

I was looking at the pd 170  but i only do around 10k a year so would it be worth it?

Keep the TFSI.   ;)

as above keep the TFSI as it does not justify getting a diesel  if you only do 10k per year

also PD and DPF do not go well together so it best to go for a CR VRS if you still want to go diesel

yeah i was thinking if i did get the pd170 i would get dpf delete and software ,  but i guess a diesel just will not get hot enough in that journey i make daily.

..... And bore you to death.

10K a year? Stick with petrol.

Insist on a diesel? Save up for a CR, avoid the PD.

Think I will get a few things done to my car hang on to it , just was thinking also I will be hitting 140k soon :$

Wow 140K, What kind of issues have you encountered over this milage? Do you regularly change the Cam follower in the fuel pump?

Only 12k in front of me. I've been K04'd for about 20k now with no issues other than clutch slip. My old K03 had slight play in it when I changed it but it wasn't bad, yours should be ok for a few thousand yet.

Maintain a TFSI well and 100,000+ miles is nothing to worry about.

I did change the follower and inspected it

Had both. Keep the petrol.

+1 for keeping the petrol. I do 10k a year and when considering all facts petrol was best for me. Diesels are more expensive to buy than the petrol equivelant, servicing and parts more expensive and a few quid to fill up each time. I've had over 20 cars now and never had a diesel always petrol for that extra standard power and tune ability ! Diesels are far more advanced since I started driving 23 years ago so as you know you do now have tuning options. Added that bit so I don't recieve any backlash from the diesel boys haha
