Whoopee!!! New H/u + Speakers...

Featured Replies

hi guys,

well the other week it was a new sony unit plus 10 disc changer, and now after advice from these threads, 17cm kenwood 140w 2 ways in front, 6x9 3 ways in boot FAN-FAPPIN-TASTIC as they say...

made the stealth shelf myself, dead easy its just a square with one curved side, bought the mdf at B&Q and they cut the square out for free, just whipped round the curved side with the jig saw after using the original shelf for a template cut out two ovals stuck some mesh over them (actually took the mesh off the speaker fronts and hammered it flat) then covered the whole thing in acoustic cloth, I used cloth because carpet would have muffled the sound too much, looks the dogs, no sign of the speakers slung underneath...

my only moan is I couldnt find any tweeters that fit in the original door mounts, even asked vw and audi if they did them (wow, bose tweeters from audi 30 squids each...ouch) so have left the original ones in for now, even though they are not very good....

cheers Fram

For car mods see 'money pit' or 'slippery slope'...:D

Shouldn't that be Slippery slope leading to money pit
