how to remove panel under steering wheel

Featured Replies

I need to remove the plastic panel which sits above the drivers feet and below the drivers dash panel, so I can route the power for my moby holder from the centre console to the fuse panel. I have removed the 2 torx screws bottom left and bottom right, and the torx next to the fuse panel. Is there anything else I need to remove or is it just brute force from there on?

Take off the two pieces of trim either side of the steering wheel, there are two more screws you need to remove under them. To remove the rhs one you need to remove the light switch - push in, turn to sidelight position and pull.

OK cheers. Once the light switch is out, is it just a pull/pry operation to remove the trims?

Yes, they just clip in.

Cheers for that. Fuse box screw was mentioned in my OP ;-) Love the way the light switch comes out

How did you remove the trim in the footwell to the left of the foot rest?

Do you mean the trim on the side of the centre console?  If so there is a screw down near the clutch pedal and another behind the ashtray.  Undo those two and it will drop down, but there is a velcro pad on the back as well.

Thanks for that. One more question, do I need to remove the foot rest next to the clutch pedal?

I don't think so.

Anybody can help with removal of the diagnostic socket from the under steering panel? How is it fixed to the panel?
