My vrs has just hit 70k I'm looking to get the cam belt done very soon, where am I best getting it done? Independent garage with good rep? or the main dealer I got the car from? And also how much am I looking at for it to be done

Car is a 55/2006 BLT engine

Be talking ~£250-£350 for the cam belt and water pump change. The water pump is definitely worth doing as it requires the cam belt to come off, so may as well do it at the same time. Save paying twice for labour should it fail before the next cam belt service.

 

Ring your local dealer see what price they quote. Then ring a few local independents/VW specialists in your area.
