Is this normal or the dealer forgot to remove it?

Featured Replies

I have the rough road package. It is something related to that or is a protection that the dealer forgot to remove?

I have these on both the rear dampers. The front ones don't have them. I saw them today when I had to remove the wheels to put the mud flaps.

Transport blocks perhaps? Sorry dont know what they actually look like.

That's what I want to know, if someone knows how the transport locks look like.

Not sure what transport blocks look like but that looks like some kinda protection for the shock. Would make sense if the car had the rough road pack ?

The transport blocks sit in the springs.

Its probably fine in that case

These are fine, I have similar sleeves on my GTi - just appear to protect the upper parts of the dampers

Good then. :) Thanks

Looks like a sort of anti rattle thing basically when you compress the shock the outer sleeve will come down over it and it stops the outer cover touching the main shock, especially if there is a bit of articulation involved.

Probably more noticeable when you jack up the car and the shock gets fully extended.
