Newbie Octy Questions

Featured Replies

Couple of quick questions on my vRS TDi which I should probably already know....

Will my old school iPod connect via the USB or did I need to spec the Mitsumi jobbie? If not, what's a Mitsumi!?

My car keeps telling me to check my safe lock when I turn it off - why? What am I doing?

Why does my car think I'm an idiot and will forget my phone when I leave the car!?

IPods/iphones wont work with the USB, Mitsumi is the skoda name for MDI which allows both Apple and USB connectivity via a series of proprietary dealer supplied cables. Not a big deal in my mind given the cars have SD and USB already. Columbus equipped cars come with MDI.

Safelock screen is a reminder not to deadlock people/pets in the car as they would not be able to get out in the event of an emergency. Double press of the lock remote turns off deadlocks and alarm.

Car will remind you to take your phone if there was a phone bluetooth connection before the ignition is turned off. This message can be turned off in infotainment.

Pretty much as above except double press the lock button on the remote only disables the deadlocks, not the alarm. As far as I know.

Turning the internal sensors off requires you to press the button on the drivers b pillar when getting out before locking the car.

when getting out before licking the car.... I know you love that car but really licking it is too much. I kiss will do.

Double press does deactivate the alarm sensors on mine, I use it at fuel stations when the kids are in the car.

Ah, so that's what it's for.  I had scanned through the (million page) user manual but couldn't find it listed

Thanks - handy tip as I use car ferries quite a lot and alarms tend to go off if the sea's a bit rough.
