Hand brake

Featured Replies

Had the rear end on stands whilst sorting my rear coilies. The hand brake was all the way up, driver side wheel wasn't moving as you would expect with the handbrake up, however the passenger side was moving very freely (as if the handbrake wasn't even on!). Odd thing is I've not had this before, had the car jacked up many times before and both wheels are usually rock solid.

I'm concerned as I've found threads about seized callipers, with smoking rear brakes etc, but mines the opposite lol.

Any quick checks I can do for a quick fix, or is it new calliper time? :-(

Cheers

Possibly uneven wear on the rear? When was your MOT?

MOT was in Feb, disc and pads looks fine tbh. I think the brake cable may have snapped one side or somthing (if that's possible :-/)

Check the leaver on the caliper is pulled on the same as the side working.

Could be a few things but all easy to diagnose with basic tools.
