Taken over by Towergate last December.

 

I KNEW there was going to be trouble pending back then when I got the letter....and they didn't disappoint.

 

FJ were running a very nice scheme for young drivers with a Moggy Minor.

Unrestricted milage, breakdown cover and only proviso being the need to join the MMOC.

 

All in all, a very decent £445 last year, which even including the purchase of the Moggy, STILL worked out cheaper than insuring her as a named driver on her mothers Agila's insurance policy!!

 

This year?

Price hike up to a staggering £665 (30%ish?) even though no claims and another year under Miss R's driving experience belt, but the massive kick in the teeth was their insistance now of the car being garaged every night!

 

Told them it was impossible, so they bid me a fond farewell.

 

Just another nail in the coffin to reinforce my absolute hatred of this vile but neccessary industry.

Will certainly never use them again.Had to reinsure a bike on a classic policy for two weeks before it was sold. Was told when i took out the policy that the charge to cancel after the two weeks would be £15. However when i did cancel it i was informed that from the £130 premium i would get get back £58! A month later i am still waiting for any kind of refund.
