Clutch Removal

Featured Replies

Does it require any form of removal / uncoupling of front suspension or steering? I had mine in for the clutch kit change (which didn't take placxe as it appears I'm one of the unlucky ones with an OE LUK clutch and flywheel..) anyhow, driving to work this morning on straight roads the steering wheel is now several degrees offset to the left, where it was perfectly level, and my fuel economy has dropped by 3-4 mpg. Feels like the front wheel alignment has been screwed up, which can only mean it's been meddled with....

I would hazard a guess and say yes they probably have removed the arm or other parts to gain access and it hasn't been put back in exact location. If your not doing to many miles before your booked in then you maybe able to put up with it for a week or so. If in doubt I would at least ring them and ask.

You should have checked the flywheel yourself with the instruction I gave. Mine was an LUK clutch and flywheel, I think a lot of them are tbh.

I couldn't actually see it, I tried but grovelling on a driveway wasn't easy! The only difference it would have made is that I would have bought the sachs flywheel at the same time.

It's £425 for a new sachs flywheel, and more for an SMF. I think I want to check it myself first, sorry to be a pain can you give me the link to your post.

Thanks!
