Factory fit bluetooth and HTC Desire C

Featured Replies

I would imagine this has been discussed to death so I apologise in advance however searching the forum has left me even more confused.

I have factory fit bluetooth with the 5NO 035 730 B module and cannot link my HTC Desire C. It will search and find my phone name but then displays 'phone not compatible'. My wifes Nokia Asha 301 connects and functions perfectly.

From what I have read, I have two options, either buy a rsap mobile phone or upgrade the module. Both of these are going to cost me £100 plus.

Does anyone have a work around to force my Desire C to connect? If not, any suggestions as to the best rsap android smart phone to work out of the box?

Any suggestions, help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

From my limited experience I've found that HTC don't support RSAP (big downer!), so another phone (Galaxy worked fine) is one option or there are apps out there that can give your HTC RSAP but the handset needs to be rooted to install such apps.

Upgrading the BT unit in the car isn't going to help, I don't think.

I only came across this issue myself when I upgraded my S3 to the HTC One M8, and in the process lost the SMS feature in my car kit (C module).

I'm not rooting such a new phone just to get SMS again, the rest of the phone/car things work fine.

As I said I've only limited experience with this so others may be able to elaborate.

Many thanks for your thoughts, I think I will explore the possibility of rooting my phone and installing the correct apps!

Thanks for the advice, ProfesorDeBuceo.   I unlocked and rooted my phone today and installed the trial version of the Android RSAP app.  I can now link my phone to my car and make and receive calls etc.  I am going to pay the £7.49 for the full version and look forward to full functionality without having to upgrade my phone or Bluetooth module and this has saved me a fair few pounds.

Glad it worked for you

Just a quick update, I purchased the full version today which downloaded in seconds from the play store. It automatically installed as the installer software is there from the trial version. It deinstalls the trial version and works like a dream. It gives me full access including phone book. Best £7.49 I have spent for quite a while.
