Interbrand rivalry?

Featured Replies

Tongue in cheek I'd suggest especially as many Yeti owners have had 'taxis' in the past. ;)

My vRS doesn't look like a taxi..!!!

Looks more like a racing car....!!

Fair enough :whew:

Last time I got into a taxi, it was a mk2 Octavia with 360,000 on the clock, have to say not a rattle to be heard and the car had be faultless for the owner,...I'd be happy in light of this my VRS being branded a taxi if it holds out as well.

I was in a Mk3 taxi this morning. There's a fleet of them at Stansted airport.

Yet there's still no Mk3 on my drive. Frustrating.

Swmbo's colleagues were winding her up about buying an octavia saying she could make extra money as a taxi driver etc.

That was until they actually saw it. :)

Theres a paramedic that is regularly stationed in my work car park that is an Octavia 2, also seen a few police cars that are Octavias, and lots of taxi's... not seen any that are Octy 3's yet though only the older model. But I actually find it reassuring to know they must be pretty reliable cars if there are so many used by these sorts of people, and certainly won't be a shortage of parts or lack of knowledge in repairing them.

Reasons for buying my Octy VRS:-

*It was cheaper than the equivalent Golf and A4, offered a better PCP deal (0%), free 3-year servicing, good dealer discount off list.

*It was a lot larger than the Golf & Leon, and had a bigger boot than the A4.

*Less common than the Golf and A4, and just about every other mass produced car.

*Looks better than most other sub £30K Estates.

*Cheap to run and maintain for a 2l Turbo.

*Buying a Skoda annoyed the wife. If she divorces me I will at least get to keep the car. .

*If I lose my job I have all the tools needed to be a Taxi Driver  .

If I didn't need the space I probably would have gone for the Golf GTI despite it commonality and small premium. My wife wanted a Mazda CX5.

Well, passing it back the other way - I had a brand new Fabia courtesy car and I thought it was awful inside. Appolgies to anyone with one, it is just my opinion, but it just seemed to all be hard scratchy plastic with very little 'design'. Was probably lowest spec, but all looked extremely cheap. Didnt help that the it looked like someone had been living in it for the past 4 weeks, with their dog. Needless to say, I was pleased to take it back.
