Fuse F51 Octavia2

Featured Replies

Dear freinds!

I can't find what is the Fuse F51 (50A) for in the Fusebox of motor room.

It takes about 0,68A of current at locked car, after 1hour too.

Thank You and BR!

according to my manual fuse 51 is NOT used, it is a spare.

What year and engine?

It may be used in other markets. I suspect OP is not in the UK.

Have you or any previous owners added any new accessaries that the could have used this fuse.

Thank You for your answers!

Yes it is not UK, but Slovenia.

It is a 2005, 1,9tdi, 77kw, BJB motortype car. We are the first owners.

This car was hit by a lightning, when my father was charging a battery.

All of electronic modules were damaged through can wire mostly.

It is on the road again, some minor problems are still there.

I would be very grateful for your help!

One picture attached showing what is has left from a charger (yes, homemade).

Fuse F51 (50A) is for the Glowplug controller on your car. The ECU commands the controller to keep the glowplugs on for a number of seconds.

Under the e-Box where F51 is, there is what looks like a relay in a box. The controller is in position R2.

Thank You Briskodian!

What do You mean by position R2? What is the ECU?

Thank You!

ECU is the Engine Control Unit.

The box that contains glowplug controller can hold 6 'relays', labelled R1 to R6. The glowplug controller is position R2. It is likely to be the only item in the box. It looks like a relay, but it has a electronic controller inside.
