Scout Bumpers

Featured Replies

HI Guys

Had my Scout about just over a year now and she has been religiously cleaned every fortnight and waxed every 3-4 months however the one part of the car that been neglected is the bumpers. Plastic trim bumpers are fairly easy to take care of but these are painted - (at least they are being painted in the bodyshop today) - but what would be the best way to take care of them? Polish & Wax? Trim Protector?

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

A good sealant and wax paint protection would be ideal.

I would use something like collinite 845 or dodo juice supernatural hybrid and keep it topped up with sonax BSD every couple of weeks.

I'm only a beginner and I'm sure you will get better advice from others on here.

Love the scout by the way, the new one looks hot!

Spot on advice there Carl

Thanks for that, will give it a go.

And yes i am enjoying every minute of the Scout but I personally don't like the look of the new one, I think they have gone too square.

On a separate note, whilst I enjoy trying to keep the car in tip top condition she is used heavily for Scuba diving gear, work tools, kids stuff, I have even had an entire disassembled kitchen in the back including the kitchen sink.

I try to be as careful as I can and have a boot liner installed most of the time however the over day a dive box hit the tailgate trim its not scratched as such but is more of a deep scuff and I was wandering if there was any way of repairing it or even making it look better.

I was trying to post a picture but could figure out how to paste on in from my desktop
