vRS No Options v Elegance With Options

Featured Replies

I've had the Elegance for 6 months now after having a mkII vRS. Because of delays in the delivery I had the chance to change to a vRS, but didn't do to the extra cost to spec up a vRS to the same level as an already spec'ed up Elegance. Sometimes I have those I wish moments but usually about electric boot and not a vRS, put it down to age and that my current car has nearly the same performance as my old.

Some really good points, it seems it comes down to comfort or driving experience/sporty look as performance is negligible between the 2.0 Elegance and vRS. I just don't want to have a constant "I wish I had a vRS" thought. I'm swaying towards an Elegance with a few options and hope that the handling is not far off my current Mk 2 FL vRS. If I was buying for private use I would go with a vRS. It doesn't help mind with all the near orgasmic forum comments on the new vRS! Lol

Falkster, my feeling was the other way, I felt I would love the VRS but after 6 months or a year of doing 2k+ miles a month, wished I'd picked the comfort and extra goodies of the Elegance as I'm stuck with it for 4 years. Anyway whatever you choose you'll end up with a great car.

As I've just said on another thread, the petrol vRS is well worth having, but the advantage of the diesel vRS (184 bhp) over the 2.0 Elegance (148 bhp) is much more marginal.  If I'd wanted a diesel, the lower list price, 0% finance and a shorter waiting time would have swung it for the Elegance.

So we have a decision. You're a bloke so heart will win over head when it comes to cars! Give Savilles a ring and get Patrick to arrange a test drive in the vRS..... you know you want to......

Ha ha, I normally have servicing done here and empty the biscuit plate in the waiting area! Nice people and good service but get the feeling they cater for the more conservative Skoda clientele. I asked them once about powder coating wheels as an option and they just said they couldn't do it! God knows what they would say to a de badge! Lol

If I'm going with an Elegance Biz it will have to be pimped; hatch, candy white, black pack, sports sus, tints, spoiler and gloss black Golus. I've been looking at the sports packs too!

If your going to that extent then get the vRS !

I was waiting for that comment Moley! My basic spec vRS would be a poor relation to yours and I'm not sure I could park up next to your 19's. At least with an Elegance I could discuss BIK and comfort! Lol

What's an inch between friends...
