Help / advice please

Featured Replies

I have a Octavia II (December 2010 - 59 plate vRS) with a Bolereo headunit and an Fiscon Bluetooth Handsfree "Basic Plus" fitted as well (fitted by Richter Sport in MK just after I bought the car new). I also have (factory fitted) rear parking sensors. All works fine with the exception of streaming music from my smartphone (Samgung Galaxy S3) through the Bolereo, despite the phone pairing and able to view contacts, make / receive calls etc.

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to stream music from my phone through the setup above? If so, please could you let me know as I've tried all of the possible settings I can find but nothing works.  :'(

Alternatively can anyone recommend an alternative head unit that will:

1) Stream music from my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S3) - preferably without the need for a lead connecting the phone to the stereo. Also ability to control music on phone from stereo.

2) Will allow me to make / receive calls hands free. Not that bothered about seeing entire address book, just a few most contacted.

3) Will display my reversing sensor "gap" as per the Bolereo.

4) Have RDS radio and the ability to play a physical CD (don't mind if only one CD slot).

I do not need any satnav ability on the headunit as I prefer using seperate tomtom unit. Budget for the headunit is up to £500 (but may be tempted to go a bit higher for the right unit). I'd need it fitted too (as I am ham fisted).

It's more than likely the fiscon unit. I know with OEM Bluetooth you have to have the "correct" module to allow music streaming from your phone.

Get an OEM BT module & loom to add to your Bolero & remove the Parrot.

Cost under £200.

There are many threads on here about which modules work with which phones. Have a search.

This will also show your address book / contacts, not effect your parking sensor display and keep all existing functions intact & OE.

A bit of an update from the advice I've been given from Richard at Richter Sport in Milton Keynes re music streaming from phone through the Fiscon Basic Plus Handsfree Bluetooth units. For this to work you may need to have the wiring loom updated (quote £75+VAT fitted) and have:

- The mobile must support A2DP sync via bluetooth.

- The Fiscon Basic Plus Handsfree Bluetooth unit must have a v2.00 (or higher) mainboard with hardware 3411+.

You can find out what version Fiscon Basic Plus Handsfree Bluetooth unit you have by either taking off your dashboard and looking at the sticker on the back of the unit, or if you have maxidot you'll find the mainboard version under the Kufatec menu. Luckily I have maxidot, but sadly my mainboard (as the unit was fitted in Dec 2010) is version 1.73 :-(

So the only way to stream music in stereo wirelessly from my phone would be to get a new Fiscon unit (costs close to my budget for a replacment headunit), or change the stero to an alternative headunit.

Can anyone recommend a replacement headunit as per my original post that is better than the Bolero, or should I go for the replacment Fiscon and stick with the Bolero?

(PS I've looked at the bluetooth receivers that plug into the aux but even if you can connect and power it, sound quality is not good, so avoiding this route.)

OE gives you what you want. Well within budget as well.

Why look elsewhere?
