just read in tyre section about spare tyre age change.

as i have a vrs i will have a virtually brand new 16" tyre that will need changing for a new one due to age.

so it got me thinking on a wild tangent why dont i swop my tyre with a local briskoda member who's tyre has a reasonable tread left  they get a brand new tyre albeit 4 years old i get a 2-3 year old tyre for a spare that will last longer due to age .

 

ok  not 100% serious on this but just throwing the question out there what do people think

Spare tyre out of the sun and rain is surely going to last longer than one exposed to the elements?

 

It's not something I've ever considered and I'd be thinking on the cynical side that the tyre business is looking to drum up more sales.
