bumper removal

Featured Replies

Hi, could anyone give any advise, pictures or video on how to remove the rear bumper on my 2007 Octavia estate, As usual skoda want to charge me an arm and a leg to replace a parking sensor that costs £20. quote £200 so I would like to do it myself. any help will be very much appreciated.

I have diagrams and tutorials on my computer at home. Will be able to post them tomorrow for you.

It's not a difficult job and very little to break in the trim. It is time consuming though...

Parking sensors can be replaced without even removing rear bumper, on the five-door model at least.I don't see any reason why this shouldn't hold true for the estate.

Thanks KBPHOTO, look forward to seeing them, time is something I have right now, off for easter...

if its offside, you can remove a few panels underneath and have a rummage around to get at the sensor.. not sure if you can get to the rest though.. is quite tight and a pain to release the clips by feel rather than being able to see what you are doing.

Diagrams and instructions here.

You will need to remove the inner side panels to get to 2 bolts either side. On the left they hold the CD changer in place. After that it's all small screws around the edges. Don't miss the one at the very tip of the bumper where it meets the wheel arch. It's hard to see under the mud and is accessible from the wheel arch. Skoda use a little silicone on the sides so you will need a little force.
