Door arm rest trim has broke :(

Featured Replies

Noticed the other day that the armrest on the door had popped out of the bottom half.

i tried to get it back in but ended up snaping the little lug bit

so does anyone know how you get these off and or replace them without messing everything else up?

or better yet the part numbers?

cheers guys

I'm not certain what bit your talking about but to dismantle the entire armrest bit of the door card will be the same.

IIRC, You will need to prise off the smaller panel with the elec window controls, a small screwdriver or very flat knife can help with this. There are 3 clips on the inner (most inside the car bit) and two I think on the bit closest to the door card. You may wish to disconnect the elec windo switch

With this removed the other longer section can be slid forward and then removed.

This should expose all the screws to then be able to remove the lower section of the arm rest bit.

Hope that makes sense and helps.

Once you've done this simply look at the parts to determine the part numbers

There is a well hidden clip where the armrest contacts the door card. You should be able to release it by pushing a very thin, long screwdriver up through a slot underneath the door armrest. You can only see this slot by lying on your back with the door open and looking up-wards! The slot's about 6mm long. I found undoing this clip was extremely difficult! You will know that it's not released when every other clip is undone but the armrest cover with the switches in it will still not come off but is attached up against the door card. I got so fed up with it that I cut it off when I got the armrest cover off so I wouldn't have the problem again. I can't tell the difference now the armrest cover is back.
