Ready for another road adventure London-Highlands-London

Featured Replies

Here I am once again hitting the road for yet another adventure with my CitiGo. I am going to cover approximately 1500 miles in 4 days starting from London, all the way to Highlands and back.

I have done something like this before however it was only till Edinburgh. This time we are going to see how she performs on the mountains.

Weather seems great but lets not be too positive about it.

Hoping for a safe trip.

Will keep you posted.

Enjoy your trip.

Depending on the route your taking you could stop in the lake district.

Its a beautiful part of the country with fantastic roads.

One not too bad is to come off the m6 at kendal and head for windermere then head over kirkstone pass (stop at the pub at the top. Kirkstone pass inn) then continue down into ulswater then back on the motorway at penrith

I have done kirkstone pass so many times. Every time I am heading back to london from Edinburgh I end up there. Beautiful view from the pub.

I found the girls who own the pub very rude though.

Ive done London to Edinburgh in my Sirion ( which I think vw cloned to make the Citigo etc imho) to Heineken cup final.I left Leicester at 4.45 am stopped at Newcastle for breakfast got to Musselburgh at 11 am .

got bus in to Edinburgh ,watched the final , which we lost ,had night out in Edinburgh , next day came back via lindisfarne ,Bamburgh castle got back to Leicester about 6 pm on Sunday it worked out to £65 each which included 25 each for B&B so about £120 in petrol which left us with a full tank.

So I would interested in fuel used on this trip if you can ,have a safe journey.

Ps I'm doing all Lake District passes in June in my Elegance:)

Recommend kirkstone pub as well
