Hi there guys! Got a weird question as I don't even know if I'm expressing myself right!

I've read enough to understand fabia mpi's are sluggish but my concern is that every time I stop for petrol and open the fuel cap and then close and get the car started seems to act a lot better..and I mean I get more power at lower revs, it changes through gears smoother and I don't seem to feel like something along needs tightening ! Don't know how else to put this but can anyone tell me what is going on? Made a habbit before I start the car to open the filler cap first! I checked to see if is blocked but looks alright to me!

I am not sure if the 1.4mpi has a fuel breather system but if it performs with the fuel cap off then this is your problem

It's got the same tank assembly with the pin for vented filling.
