Smic & fmic

Featured Replies

Hello all

Iv been looking at upgraded fmic and smic

Basically I want to know if anyone has or is running a upgraded smic ? Instead of a fmic where you have to adapt things, also what's the differences in having either one ?

Just to throw this in, but with the Forge setup you barely have to touch anything. It's plug and play, and the cooler attaches with two bolts that are already on the car.

Running a SMIC would depend on what level of tune you're planning on. They're not cheap, and you might as well just buy a FMIC, as the surface area is much larger.

Thanks for the reply Alex, I'm only looking for around 200bhp max I will have a look at forge. I found a smic on darkside for £275 I think it was so cheap. Then for fitting wise make a few holes in arch lining and adapt the fog light grill for more air ?

I originally said that I wanted 220bhp max, but then once at that I wanted more...  You always do!!

I'd definitely go the whole hog and buy a FMIC. Not only are they far more efficient, they also look bloody cool!!! The Airtec kits are very good and about £500, but you would have to cut your radiator surround to get it to fit.

You may be able to pick up a second hand Forge setup on here - there's been a couple recently. Just sold mine in fact!

When are you looking to buy?

I might be selling my seat sport FMIC soon, pipework wouldn't be included but I made my own kit and can point you in the right direction :)

Sorry to hijack the thread but it seems with fmic the cost is the pipework

Have any members made up their own piping??

The smic on dark side isn't designed for a Fabia. The mounts are different I think. You still need to add pipe work and silicone hoses due to the finish. I think dark side's is the same as the turbo revs one, only a little more expensive
